FCVA Technology
 

 

Tetrahedral Amorphous Carbon (ta-C) film has an unique combination of properties such as high hardness, low friction, chemical inertness, optical transparency and negative electron affinity, making it a technologically important material.

 

Our FCVA technology has the capability of producing large area of clean coatings with good uniformity at desired rate and low temperature. The ta-C contains up to 88% of sp3 bonds, so it has very high hardness (up to 75 GPa), extremely low frictional coefficient (0.08), an optical band gap (2.5eV), considerable field emission effect and IR transparency.

 

With such advanced properties, the FCVA ta-C coatings offer an excellent solution for most of the applications, particularly good for slider/fixed magnetic heads, media, recording drums, tools, moulds, dies and IR devices.
